I say Theoretical because, thankfully, none of us are making the decision on a new coach, should that become necessary.
Rather than talking "who" we want or don't want, let's talk "what" we would like to see in a potential new coach. I will pose a few questions that can be commented on or not. Others can add more, I am sure.
My thoughts: Up-tempo, but with more emphasis on defense than Johny/Fred; HC experience desirable but not a deal-breaker; ISU connections a bonus but not needed; Prefer someone who is looking to stay, but I am not sure that is realistic; and a better HS recruiter who still looks for transfers.
Not asking for much, Am I?

- Would you want someone who keeps the up-tempo style, or more concerned with "just win, baby, however you can do it?"
- Head coaching experience a must, desirable, or not important?
- Connections to ISU important or not?
- Someone who would truly look at this as the "destination" job vs. someone who is a "hot commodity looking to move on up in the basketball world?
- Kind of related to number 1, but would a greater emphasis on defense/rebounding be desirable?
- Would you want someone who can get transfers (JC, 4-year, Graduate) as a main emphasis, or one who is a strong HS/Prep Recruiter?
