Mowing the grass on the John Deere and listening to ESPN sports radio on headphones. The guy, "Greenie," was describing something he called the "Tiger Woods effect." He used it to illustrate why he felt the Chiefs had come back to beat the Browns (in which case he re-labeled it the "Mahomes effect." ) He said that while he felt Woods was a legendary golfer, it wasn't entirely his skill that allowed him to win championships. The other players were so concerned with beating him that they did uncharacteristic things, tried TOO hard, got TOO concerned with not making mistakes and didn't play their regular game. He went on to say that Mahomes was having the same effect on NFL teams and the Chiefs simply had to wait for the other team to mess up. They play relatively mistake free but the other team keeps expecting Mahomes to pull something out of his ass, and keep getting bound up in their nighties because of it. Does this sound familiar?
