My mind goes a lot of places after witnessing what I did last night. The thoughts range from the logical, to the Chicken Little, to excuses, to conspiracy theory, so please, don't overreact to any one thought here, as I'm just spitballing/venting, but this is the kind of crap that floats through my mind after that kind of debacle:
I'm sure there's more that I forgot, but this is what I KNOW: Last night reduced my interest in this season drastically. I probably won't schedule my days/nights around games, but rather just watch them if/when I'm available and it's convenient. That can change for the better, or God forbid the worse, based on the next half-dozen or so games.
- (Most likely, IMO) This team is still learning to play (and coach) without the facilitator that was Georges Niang, and improvement will happen, and we'll be OK (Tourney team) by the end of the year.
- (next most likely) We just played like $h!t last night. And yes, 1 and 2 go hand-in-hand.
- Iowa punched us in the mouth and we're not mentally strong enough to overcome it.
- There is a chemistry issue behind the scenes. (again, just a crazy stream of thoughts here)
- We "came out flat" when we saw a sparse crowd (by CyHawk standards) last night.
- Iowa's Super Bowl
- Too many 'heroes' either wanting the limelight for themselves, or not trusting their teammates.
- We sure seemed to miss a lot of layups in a game that Vegas 'knew something' about. (I told you I have a crazy stream of thoughts after an egg-laying).
