Seems like in the past when we landed a juco DT it was, with very few exceptions, very late in the process, after all the good juco DTs and already committed elsewhere, and only the academically iffy (see Frederico Samuel) or the P-5 iffy (see Thomas Patton or Chris Weir or a host of others, both high school and juco) and we were scrambling trying to find someone, ANYONE to fill a large hole in the D-line next year.
Or worse yet, we filled in with high school DEs with questionable skills and tried to grow them into DTs.
These guys actually had other offers and were probably bound to get more and they already have the size to compete at this level.
