I listened to Grobe at the Big XII. It sounded to me that they are, at least on the record, putting their heads in the sand. To be fair, I need to be up front that I have never been comfortable with Private Schools in a largely Public School Conference. It becomes particularly exacerbated, to me, when the attitude seems to be that "we are a private institution, it's none of your damn business, give us the money." The B1G or SEC don't have that attitude problem with Northwestern or Vanderbilt. The PAC 12 doesn't have that problem with Stanford. The ACC may have that problem a bit with Duke, it seems at times. Heck, we don't seem to have the problem with TCU. Baylor seems to think, to me, anyway, that they are not subject to the same rules and regulations nor should they be.
Maybe it is to how that politically Baylor got strong-armed into the Big XII in the first place. Maybe it is the seeming hypocrisy of their actions compared to their words as an allegedly Christian University. Maybe it is Academic Scandal, followed by basketball scandal, followed by Football Sexual Assault scandal. But they have worn really thin with me. Really thin. It won't ever happen, but if they got voted out, I wouldn't be unhappy.
