Stumbled across one of his "Joe Pickett" books in a local "little free library" a few months back.
I am hooked. There are 24 books (so far) in the Joe Pickett series. Basically, a mystery murder series of books.
"Joe" is a game warden in Wyoming , some describe as a "Dudley Do right" who repeatedly stumbles across crime scenes or gets mixed up in bureaucratic red tape with his superiors in Government, the FBI, and his local Sheriff dept.
He has a hot wife, who makes 4 times what he does, and they have 3 daughters who live with them in a State-owned house in a game warden district in northern Wyoming.
C. J. Box does an excellent job of in his novels of incorporating and mentioning and describing many places thru out Wyoming, South Dakota, and Montana that I have been too many times myself.
Some of the books have held my interest more so than others, but that is the way it goes with any book series, imo.
Have read 8 of the 24 books so far. They are in order, so I suggest a start with Book number 1, "Open Season".
There was a 2-year series on Paramount+ about the exploits of "Joe Pickett", but I have not watched any of those, as I hear they vary dramatically from the books.
