Linn County was the first real hot spot in the state for Covid19, but for some reason has been passed by some smaller counties, not sure as to why.

Some weird stats:

Linn versus Polk, Linn is about half the size of Polk but case counts are 1324 vs 6846 ?

IN terms of cases and deaths per capita, Black Hawk and Woodbury counties are the top 2. Polk is 3rd for both of these.

Cases per capita, Linn county is ranked 9th, even though they are the 2nd largest county?

Would not surprise me if eventually Black Hawk and Woodbury County will pass Linn county for deaths, even though Linn County is roughly twice the size of those counties.

Deaths per capita are actually better in Ames than they are in Iowa CIty ( and they have the resources of UIHC to work with)?

Her is the data today(nytimes)
County by Size County Major City Pop Cases Deaths
1 Polk Des Moines 490,161 6846 182
2 Linn Cedar Rapids 226,706 1324 82
3 Scott Davenport 172,943 896 10
4 Johnson Iowa City 151,140 1365 8
5 Black Hawk Waterloo 131,228 2362 58
6 Woodbury Souix City 103,107 3268 44
7 Dubuque Dubuque 97,311 773 22
8 Story Ames 97,117 822 4
9 Dallas Waukee 93,453 1300 31
10 Pottawattamie Council Bluffs 93,206 758 12

Not sure why some counties are doing much better than others like this.
