With this summer newsletter I want to give you an update on our
Cyclone RTC training, as well as let you know what our post-graduate athletes have planned over the next couple of months.
Plus, I want to offer you a chance to come out to our
Golf Event next month in Ames!
We also NEED YOUR HELP with auction items (see below).
For a look at everything we're doing this summer, watch this
VIDEO recap of mine.
First, we have been training as a unit since May 23 with a couple of breaks so our guys could go home to see their families.
This past weekend we reconvened for the last cycle of our summer training. Our athletes will be here at Lied Recreation Athletic Center through July 23rd. We have welcomed several USA wrestling-qualified high school and small-college athletes to these C-RTC practices, as well.
This past month we have averaged 60 athletes per mat workout so the energy has been really good! We will restart RTC workouts as a large group after Labor Day.
Our post-graduate athletes have been busy training with us during the summer and they all have competitions on the radar.
Kyven Gadson will meet Pat Downey at 94 kilograms in the marque match of a
StaleMates Street League event in Des Moines August 13th. The event, which will take place at the Forte Banquet and Conference Center in Des Moines, costs $20 to attend. OR you can watch online here:
Patreon.com/stalemates.
Also Kyven and
Joe Colon are training for the
U.S. Senior World Team Trials coming up this September. And
Jasmit Phulka is scheduled to compete at the
Ion Cornianu & Ladislau Simon in Romania in early September and at the
U23 Senior World Championships in Norway in early October.
We support these post-graduate athletes with money raised by the Cyclone RTC.
MOVING ON,
our big summer fundraisers are coming up next month -- with Golf Events in both Humboldt and Ames. These events were very popular last year, and this year's Humboldt event already is sold-out!
We DO have extra room at our Ames event on Tuesday, August 24th. We will have a swag bag for each golfer PLUS a pork dinner by Big Shooter & Lynch BBQ. The day will begin with registration at 10 a.m. at the
Ames Golf & Country Club followed by a Noon shotgun start.
Go
HERE for more information and to register. My staff will be on the course that day and our entire team will come out for dinner that evening!
We'd also like to ask for your
help with auction items at our golf events. We auction off both silent and live items in Humboldt and Ames. Please reach out to
Erica Andorf at
eandorf@gmail.com or 319-504-4424 if you have items for auction.
We depend on the generosity of our fans and supporters for these unique items. Erica can brainstorm with you if you have questions about what might make a good item.
And finally, to stay consistent,
I want to thank those of you who have donated since our last email. Getting on our RTC Tree is my challenge to all. Click on this
LINK to see everyone who has helped us so far in 2021. And if you haven't gotten on the tree, please join us by DONATING
HERE at some level.
I hope to see you in Humboldt, Ames or Ankeny before we get cranked back up in November 2021 in Hilton.
In my next email I will tell you about our
Annual C-RTC 100 in Ankeny October 21st. This year's dinner will be the best and biggest ever. You can save the date now -- and I will share details in our next email.
