Just saw a picture on Facebook of supposedly the largest grain bin going up at Golden Grain Energy in Mason City. Built by Sukup, this bin will hold 2.2 million bushel.
Growing up, we had two 6,000 bushel Columbia bins on our farm. I did the math, and 367 of those bins would fit in this monster.
I was just envisioning cleaning up the last 4 inches on the floor with a scoop shovel and kitchen broom that the sweep auger left behind
That alone would probably fill a rail car
