i might as well get this off my chest too.......we do not have our best players in the game enough. If the excuse is to keep the guys fresh, i don't buy it. The starters should be able to play at least 75% of the plays. If they cannot, then we need to look at our conditioning program. I excused it to some extent against uni because it was a million degrees out. I find it especially frustrating with the defense front 7. When we had Iowa pinned early, we had almost all second teamers in the front 7. That is the time to stick them. On third and long Beathard breaks 6 tackles and goes 50 yards, or whatever. We struggle to find 11 B12 caliber players to fill out a unit.......why do we think we should give everybody on the second and sometimes third team minutes? Also....at one point, near midfield, we have Joshua Thomas in the game. First, we run him wide....WTH? Then on the next play he whiffs on the past protect and Sam gets sacked. Was that a good time to have a true freshman in the game? Iowa is not a tempo team, plenty of time between plays. If the starters are our best players, keep them in the game!
