Remember how I love 1 pm starts. 3 hours away you don't have to leave at the crack of dawn and can get home in a reasonable time. My first spring game. Appreciate the Gridiron Club for lunch.
I was impressed with the first team defensive line, but of course that could reflect more on the OL, we'll see. Early on thought Darius Lee Campbell looked good. Nice moves and hands. Didn't go much to him later but he definitely looks the part.
Sam has those special quick feet. Dancer's feet. If we can keep him away from options and zone reads where he gets smacked he may be able to stay healthy. Hope they only run him on designed qb draws and scramble situations where he excels. At least then he can slide or run out of bounds. Hopefully he'll perfect the slide because if memory serves he wasn't very good at it.
Rohach threw well but I like Lanning better. Sam and Lanning have runner's instinct. While Rohach isn't a terrible runner he doesn't seem to have the instinct to take off.
The starting receivers disappointed early but came around. I'll give them a pass for now. Was able to go out on the field and talk to some players fans. Sam is a chick magnet, young and old
Trevor Ryan looked smaller up close than he did on the field. Couple other players came over and told us what a stud he was. Who knows? Maybe the real deal.
Talked to one players parent who commented the team is more cohesive this year and thinks the chemistry will be better. Something we've heard on this board.
and yes, the SEZ is simply amazing. I posted in an earlier thread it almost gives you a claustrophobic feeling.
