Northern Iowa punted 12 times. When's the last time an ISU opponent punted 12 times?

We punted 6 times and UNI had three returns off those 6 punts for a net of zero yards.

On our 12 punts, we returned 8 of them for 193 yards and a TD. That's 24.3 yards per return on average. The returned punts were split evenly between Ryen and Lazard at 4 each and the yardage was also nearly split evenly Lazard with 100, Ryen with 93.

Someone, and I don't know who it was and don't want to know was ranting on the game chat about what a horrible defense we have in the first quarter of the game. Said it was worse than last year and he didn't think that was possible. How about we wait for more than one quarter to assess how we're doing. In fact, let's wait a couple of games before we make those kinds of assessments. I thought our defense played well most of the game (12 punts).

In addition to Burton and Taylor, I also saw Jauan Wesley standing on the sidelines in street clothes. I don't know if CPR addressed that in post game or not, but I think maybe he did. I didn't hear the name of the player the reporter asked about after CPR discussed why Burton and Taylor were out, but CPR, in response to the question, said, "Same thing, violation of team rules."

Some of our Big XII brethren looked vulnerable this week. Texas Tech surrendered nearly 700 yards of total offense in a narrow win over Sam Houston State and Texas gave up over 500 yards to Notre Dame while accumulating less than 200 themselves.

OK-State didn't exactly set the world on fire either in an 11-point win over Central Michigan.
