Some here have seemed to have lost all hope. But there is some hope.
For those that tout or dismiss recruiting rankings this is something to consider.
On offense we have these potential starters:
D'Vario Montgomery was a 2012 4* recruit, ranked the 21st best wide receiver in that class, and rated a 5.8 by rivals. Everyone should go back and look at his offer list. It's incredible.
Jake Campos was also a 4* recruit ranked the 16th the best offensive tackle in his class, and rated a 5.8 by rivals.
Allen Lazard was also a 4* recruit and ranked the 7th best wide receiver in his class, and rated a 6.0 by rivals.
Mike Warren was a 3* recruit and ranked the 35th best running back in his class, and rated a 5.7 by rivals.
I'm not saying this adds up to anything, but as much as we moan and groan about ratings these were at least thought of as very talented and sought after players, who now all have at least one season under their belts as Iowa State Cyclones.
When you really stop to think about it, with these guys having some talent, and now experience, and with a year of Mark Mangino at the offensive helm, this could possibly be a very exciting offensive team. Maybe one of the best in a long time.
Maybe some here aren't excited, but I am!
