Just got my property tax assessment from Linn County, and they jacked my house value almost 10%, even though the neighbor hood had extensive damage. Last August 10th, the winds through my neighbor hood were between 100mph and 140mph for at least an hour. Destroyed 1000's of trees in Marion. And yet, the auditor believes that property values skyrocketed in this county. The auditor actually explained the Derecho caused values to go up. Yea, right!
So apparently Derecho's cause house values to skyrocket for tax purposes.
