1980 was the last time a team from the state of Iowa made the final 4. Since then all other states have had a team make it except, Iowa, Alaska, Vermont, Hawaii, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, Mizzou, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Delaware, New Hampshire, and West Virginia. Most of those states don't really have a power 5 or a "basketball school" so from there you can narrow it down to Iowa, Colorado, West Virginia, Missouri, and Nebraska as states that have not had a final 4 rep since 1980. ISU has been invited to the tournament 19 times since Orr turned the program around. You would think with that many invites, statistically that at some point we would have had a final 4 run.
