I subscribe to many of the Cyclone Sports calendars for Google Calendar. These calendars are now part of the Sidearm platform. I also created an ISU All Events calendar by modifying the code of one of the individual sports. More on that later.

My main reason for posting is to point out a couple of new features with these Sidearm calendar subscriptions. First is that each event contains a link which takes you to that event on the Composite Schedule page of Cyclones.com. The Composite Schedule give links to live audio, video and stats when available.

The second new feature is that after an event has been played the item in your calendar will reflect the results. That is a pretty handy feature.

Now back to the custom all events calendar. There may be a subscription to that somewhere, but I modified one of the other sports to remove the code that filters it to that particular sport. Using the URL for football as an example http://www.cyclones.com/calendar.ashx/calendar.ics?sport_id=1&_=xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx , all I did was delete all the code from the first question mark to the end as shown in red. In the example above I replaced what looks like a serial number or hash code with x's. I don't know what the functionality of that code is. It changes if you subscribe more than once. I've even deleted it, leaving the sport_id filter in tact and didn't see any adverse result.

I usually don't have the all events calendar normally in view, but toggle it on and off when I want to see if one of the non spectator sports has something going on. I subscribe to individual calendars for spectator sports of FB, GYM, MBB, SB, SOC, VB, WBB and WR. I rename the calendar with those names preceded with ISU (ex ISU FB). I also change the color to the official Cardinal color #a71930 with light text. For the all events calendar I use Gold #fdc82f with dark text.

I also have a calendar subscription for Cyclones TV (in Gold color) which I toggle on and off when I want to see what's on the live channel. If you have a personal calendar and don't subscribe to one or more of these calendars, I highly recommend doing so. They are automatically updated with game times shortly after they are announced. While I use the Google calendar, I think the other supported calendars work equally well.
