I've been interested in the development of self driving cars. Some manufactures are contemplating some new hands free models, which I find intriguing. Some day I may want to own one.
But I heard something that really threw cold water on the idea to me. The ones they are thinking of releasing will come with a subscription cost for that feature. Going down that path a little further there may come a day where you need a subscription to turn your car on. It's like you would be held hostage and there would be no limit to what they could charge you.
I hope that worst case scenario doesn't come to fruition but I fear it's headed that way.
