I was reading the transcript of the Texas news conference after the game (boy they don't lob softballs at the coach down there in Texas).
One of the reporters asked Strong, "Iowa State's secondary was rated by some as the worst in the country. What were they doing Saturday night that confused Jerrod and Tyrone, and specifically what were they doing to limit the Longhorns in passing?"
Um, who are "some" I've never seen our secondary rated as the worst in the country. Was that dude just making crap up? In fact, I've seen it rated as above average to pretty damned good. We are ranked 100th in passing efficiency defense and 95th in passing yards allowed, but look who we've played. Three of the best passing teams in the country, among others. Those rankings will get better from here on out, I suspect.
