I just got a text from purportedly BancCorpSouth saying my payment was declined, along with a phone number to call "immediately." Now I didn't even open the text, this is just what I could read in the text preview. First of all, I don't bank with Banc Corp South, so I have no idea what the hell they were talking about. Secondly, who texts you to let you know your payment was declined? And third, it's Sunday. Banks are closed on Sunday, unless you're telling me that they have an automated system that triggers a text when a payment is declined. But that begs the questions how did they get my phone number since I certainly haven't given it to them and who would be answering their phones on a Sunday? I deleted the text without opening it because it is almost certainly a scam to try to get me to give them my banking information.
