Do I understand correctly that Saturday was the first graduation ceremony held at Jack Trice? Here is a photo. Pretty impressive crowd, certainly more than Hilton could hold I'm sure. There was nobody on the east side.
Was talking to a prof that got to be on the stage yesterday. It was the first at JTS that she could recall. She said they had the blow up tunnel. The graduates got to hang out in the Bergstrom before the ceremony, got to walk the route the football players use, and come out of the tunnel with the smoke going. Then they were up on the big screen. She said the students were hooting and hollering doing the tunnel thing. That sounds pretty cool.
The prof told me there were some first time kinks. The grads sat in the seat backs in the lower center of JTS. But she thought it took longer for them to get out of their seats and up to the stage because of the narrowness of the "feet area" compared to how the seats used to be set up in Hilton. And there were some backups in getting everybody back because of a single stairwell back into the stands. Those were the only operational kinks she noted. Otherwise she thought it was great and they only got sprinkled on a little bit.
Did any of you CR posters go?
