Offers from a foursome of Power-5 programs has gotten a 2021 offensive tackle from Missouri’s recruitment off to a fast start, and Iowa State is included in that early mix of schools.

Blue Springs rising junior Beau Stephens shined at the Lindenwood University satellite camp earlier this month and said he was offered on the spot by assistant coach D.K. McDonald.

“I’ve talked to Coach McDonald and he watched me do the drills like the one-on-ones and pass protection,” said Stephens. “After the camp, he came over and he said he wants me and was offering a full ride. He wanted me to come up for some camps. He really liked my experience and that I looked more polished than the other kids. I’ve been given opportunities to work with people that know what they’re talking about. I looked like I knew what I was doing.”

In addition to the one he’s received from the Cyclones, the 6-foot-6, 320-pound Stephens also has offers from Kansas, Kansas State and Missouri. A host of other Big 10 schools are also recruiting the 2021 tackle.

Stephens said he hasn’t followed college football closely during his high school years, so admits to not knowing much yet about ISU.

“I like that they offered me and appreciate it a lot,” he said. “I really don’t know what Iowa State football is all about, because I haven’t been up to the campus or talked to all the coaches. I’m going to do that. I think they’ve got a really good football team and a really good D-I school to go to.”

I-State’s camp season wrapped up last week without a visit from Stephens, but the rising junior said he is planning to be on campus during the 2019 season.

“I couldn’t go this month, because I had booked so many other ones,” he said. “(McDonald) asked me to come next year, because they want to show off their facilities and the campus. I’m thinking I will go to a game at every single one of my offers, so Nebraska, K-State, Iowa State and Kansas.”
