Watching the Bama at Tennessee game. Both teams have QBs that can really run the ball (Jalen Hurts for Bama and Joshua Dobbs for Tennessee). After 6 games, Dobbs has 324 yards and 5 TD (had 671 yards, 11 TD in 2015). Hurts has 296 yards and 5 TD as a Frosh through 6 games.
Got me thinking, who was the last real running QB that we had? Seneca was the first one that came to mind. Never would have guessed, or just plumb forgot, that Austen Arnaud had over 550 yards and 8 scores in 2009 or that Seneca only had 437 yards in 2002.
