I had 8 volunteers helping me clean up the tree damage. My thought was to take care of the easy stuff, then bring in the professionals for the rest of it. Today no volunteers and no GF as everyone is back to work. I rigged up way to pull a tarp behind my lawn tractor then started to work. It seemed hotter today. Maybe because I had no help. I saw some progress yesterday, but today it seemed there was no way I'll ever finish the job.

Then plans changed. A tree service working in the neighborhood gave me a bid and I accepted it. He will be removing 10 oversized white pines and 20+ other trees. He will repair about eight trees. And he will relocate the brush where FEMA will come pick it up. At least the whole neighborhood thinks they plan to do that.

I disassembled my ingenious tarp puller, put the chainsaws away and turned my thoughts to other endeavors. The GF came home to help me after working half a day and was overjoyed not to have to toil in those miserable conditions.

The tree service is planning to start Wednesday. As soon as they are done I think I'll head back to Ames where the Internet is working.
