KU has given ISU fans the reputation of booing every call that goes against us. While every school boos bad calls, we may deserve that reputation. I've had a theory of why we've earned that reputation, and at a neutral site I believe the theory has been proven.
That theory is that ISU fans are a more active and vocal crowd for the entire game. We don't take much time off. When the calls go our way, we cheer. When they go against us, we boo. When the team needs us, we chant. Fans of other teams, even the good fans of KU, take a lot of time off. They can be very quiet for long periods of times. They generally need something good to happen to get loud. They will boo a bad call also. And it can be loud boos too if it happens when they are not in one of their lulls.
So they can criticize us all they want. We earn it because we are engaged in the game and more vocal than other fan bases. Other fans too easily turn into spectators for long periods of time.
