My senior year, 1979-'80, a senior vet student and I rented an apartment across the street from Cap Timm from Agronomy Professor Joe Stritzel. For those of you familiar with Mr. Stritzel, he passed away last weekend at the age of 102. He fell in his home in the middle of the night, hitting his head which caused a brain bleed, and after a day or two in hospice he passed on to lush fields of corn and soybeans in the great beyond. He was still living in his farm home on North Dakota Avenue.
There were occasions when I would hand him my rent check before our class would begin. He was okay with that!!
I included this news in the ISU-MIssouri Baseball thread on the sports board, but thought I'd share it here too for those interested. 102 years is a LONG life! From what I've been told, he was mentally sharp until the end. Just gave up driving recently.
