AMES, Iowa – Iowa State sophomore Ange Oby Kajuru has been named Big 12 Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season and the fourth time in her career.
Kajuru, a Tokyo, Japan, native, went 4-0 last weekend in Iowa State’s wins against TCU and Texas Tech.
She defeated a pair of ranked foes in singles action, taking down No. 115 Mercedes Aristegui of TCU and No. 122 Avelina Sayfetdinova of Texas Tech to improve to 15-3 in dual play.
She teamed up with Xinyi Nong and went 2-0 in doubles play as the Cyclones moved to 15-0 this season when capturing the doubles point. The ISU pair is now 10-2 at No. 2 doubles and has won four-straight matches heading into today’s regular season finale against West Virginia.
