AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State wrestling team will enter the 2024-25 season ranked No. 6 in the coaches’ poll, the National Wrestling Coaches Association announced Wednesday.

It marks ISU's 34th-consecutive edition of the poll ranked inside the top 10 and the Cyclones' best preseason ranking since the 2009-10 season.

Five of Iowa State's home dual opponents are ranked in the preseason poll: No. 21 Stanford (Nov. 8), No. 22 Oklahoma (Jan. 24), No. 3 Oklahoma State (Jan. 26), No. 18 Arizona State (Feb. 7) and No. 25 Pittsburgh (Feb. 9). Overall, 12 of ISU's 17 dual opponents are ranked in the top 25, including three of the top five.

ISU is one of eight teams from the Big 12 ranked inside the top 25, tied for the most of any conference.

No. 6 Iowa State opens its season on Nov. 8 against No. 21 Stanford. That dual is set for a 7 p.m. start time inside Hilton Coliseum and can be streamed on ESPN+.
