Forget Memphis, Cincinnati, BYU, or anyone else. It doesn't matter at this point. Energies should not be directed at keeping a terminally ill patient alive, but in finding a new place to reside. The only real shot for Iowa State to remain in major college sports is the Pac-12.
The Big Ten doesn't take charity cases, and other than AAU membership, there is really nothing that ISU brings to the table that the Big Ten wants or needs. They have the leverage to add bigger programs, so they're not going to pick up ISU.
Meanwhile, the Pac-12 will be looking to expand as they have to in order to keep pace with the other conferences. They will likely be adding at least a few of the ex-Big 12 teams. Might as well get used to that idea now.
