It drives me insane when people who show up shortly before 7:00 AM going east bound on 4th street, are allowed to park before people who have lined up an hour or TWO going west bound on 4th street to get into the lots. From a pure traffic rules perspective, people taking a left hand turn should have to wait until those making a right hand turn are done. If any of you are in the camp of showing up late and budging in, shame on you. I have other wording in my mind besides “shame on” but will keep it clean. Also, WTF was the Dayton avenue entrance ramp shut down yesterday? No signs, no warnings, just shut down by the highway patrol. There was a whole string of traffic going beyond the entrance ramp and turning around on a dead end road. It was darn near impossible to get out of Ames yesterday. The post-game traffic control strategies are baffling to me. Rant over.
