I forgot to tell you guys... I was in Chick-fil-A here in a Milwaukee suburb the day of the OU basketball game. Naturally I was wearing an ISU polo in preparation for the game. My amazing wife (SEC grad) had an ISU shirt on as well.
We were eating lunch and this guy walked up and gave us a "Go Cylones!" That hardly ever happens in Milwaukee. He asked if we went to school there and mentioned that his son currently attends ISU. I told him he had a very intelligent son!
About 10 minutes later he and his son stopped by our table agin. His son was wearing an ISU hat and ISU Nike coat. He asked me about ISU and what my major was. The four of us chatted for about 5 minutes. I asked him what he does at Iowa State. He said he chose ISU because he plays football. Given his size, or lack there of, both my wife and I were quite surprised he said he played football.
So I looked him up later. It was Colin Downing. He's from Milwaukee suburb of Whitefish Bay. He and his father were so nice. What a pleasant and random meeting!
