Does anyone know for sure how the 10 SEC participants are chosen? Or more accurately, how the four exclusions are determined?
This year, it was three of their weakest teams and South Carolina. My presumption is they are always going to exclude four teams expected to not be very good...and South Carolina happened to fool them this year.
It's really not a valid "challenge" of conference strength when one conference gets to exclude four teams, usually at the bottom. And still, the Big 12 has won 67% of games (20-10) in the three years of the event.
