I'm certainly not an expert but the last four ISU coaches look to have two different program building philosophies. CPR and Mac look to win to recruit and CMC and Chiz look to recruit to win. Mac and Rhoads won on emotion and 'smoke and mirrors' schemes while Chiz was looking to improve talent and left before that talent matured. CPR and Mac were never able to sustain or go beyond mediocre because recruiting never got better. I guess I'll set back and watch if CMC can keep recruiting for the next couple of years if the wins don't happen. Out of the last 20 years only a few have included a recruit to win attitude so I guess we'll need to be patient. Should be interesting.
FWIW, I don't believe they're doing a great job at game day coaching but below average in the FBS.
