WORTH NOTING
1. Iowa State is starting a difficult nine-game stretch in which it will play six of the next nine games against ranked teams, with four of the six ranked games coming on the road.
2. Wednesday's game will be Iowa State's first on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
3. The game against the Jayhawks will feature the Big 12's top-two scorers in KU's Devon Dotson (18.4 ppg) and ISU's Tyrese Haliburton (17.7)...ISU (80.2) and KU (79.5) also are the league's top scoring teams.

• Iowa State got a triple-double from Tyrese Haliburton but were unable to hold off TCU in the Big 12 opener...the Horned Frogs won 81-79 in overtime despite Haliburton's 22 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.
• The Cyclones led by three with 8.0 seconds left in regulation but RJ Nembhard banked in a 26-foot three with 1.7 seconds left to send the game to overtime...Nembhard finished with a career-high 31 points on 6-of-8 three-point shooting.
• Conditt IV had his best game, scoring a career-high 19 points while playing a career-high 31 minutes...Bolton (17) and Nixon (12) were also in double figures for the Cyclones, who got to the line 27 times (19-27).

• Iowa State and Kansas are meeting for the 249th time in series history...it is the longest running series for ISU, dating back to 1908...KU owns a 181-67 edge in the all-time series...KU leads 70-40 in games played in Ames, but just 26-22 at Hilton Coliseum...the Cyclones have won three of the last five meetings in Ames...this will be the seventh meeting between the schools on Jan. 8...ISU's lone win on the date was in 1916, a 24-21 win in Lawrence.
• The Cyclones beat the Jayhawks in two of three meetings last season, including a 77-60 win in Ames last January that was the largest in series history at Hilton Coliseum...the Cyclones also beat KU, 78-66, to win the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship in Kansas City.
