I can't imagine Mangino won't have a package this year that features Lanning given his size, reported skills and the obvious advantage this would bring of requiring opponents to also scheme for the package once unveiled. (Let alone the developmental factor for the player.) if they don't put one together I'd guess Lanning's future is not as a QB at ISU.

In addition to Kenneth alyn I'm hearing there is a burner walk-on from the track team who has turned heads with his speed and pass-catching abilities in at least one scrimmage. I think Mangino wants to have a speed guy available in the offense.

Tight end will be an interesting position to watch develop. Could be Anderson gets significant PT there if his footwork, intelligence and motor let him adapt quickly enough to the new position.

I like the competition in the OL among upperclassmen with highly regarded underclass men in the charts, developing, gaining weight and strength and learning.

We've got loads of DEs counting preferred walk-ons, and substantially fewer DTs. The "grow 'Em bigger part of the program is permanent, Captain Obvious.
