I stayed in Algona for two days during my class reunion (there is no hotel/motel in Titonka and any family I had there has long since died or left) and found the restaurant choices there to be severely limited if you didn't want pizza. There used to be a restaurant/truck stop there called Chrome. I asked the lady at the front desk of the hotel what had happened to the Chrome because it looked like there was construction going on there and it wasn't open. She said it had moved across the street and the old place was being turned into an iHop. She didn't bother to tell me, however, that the new Chrome, which is just a restaurant now, closes at 4 p.m.
So that gets us to Pizza Ranch, which was about the only other thing open right around that area. I wasn't really in the mood for pizza, but the choices were limited. It was either pizza or pizza, so pizza it was. However, when I looked at their menu, they had chicken on it. That sounded a lot better than pizza. And I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the chicken was. I would highly recommend their chicken if you want something that's not pizza. They served it with some potato wedges and a sour cream dip. Very good stuff.
