Our local high school's booster club had their annual draw down last night. I won a tip board prize, which is $500 gift card for SW Airlines. I'm thinking I'd use that to fly out to Portland for the tourney.
SW's website won't let me look at ticket prices that far in advance, so I'm wondering if anyone has flown there from Chicago before, and knows the cost. I'm assuming that since that's around Thanksgiving, they won't be cheap. The flight prices that I could see for July were within the parameters for me (as little of out of pocket as possible), but I'm not an experienced enough flyer to know how much (percent wise) flights typically go up because of the holiday.
Any insight would be appreciated! I'd love to be able to travel to something like that, especially since a childhood friend and ISU grad lives in the area.
