I made it to Pasquale's Pizza and the thing that surprised me most in a Black and Gold town like Humboldt is that I actually saw 3 Cyclones for every SQUAWK. The pizza was not surprising at all. I took a picture of mine and sent it to a buddy and he was wowed by it ... by a picture. It was excellent as usual. The only other surprising thing was I never saw any relatives of mine (that I know of) in there. Half that town must be related to me one way or another, all SQUAWK fans for the most part.

One other note, I was flying by the seat of my pants and never booked any hotel reservations. It was my intention to stay in Humboldt Thursday night, but when I got to the motel I had decided to stay in, he said they were all booked and so was the only other hotel in town. I told him I only decided to stay in Humboldt for one reason. Before I could even get that reason out, he said, "Pasquale's Pizza." I said, "How did you know," and he said, "we get that a lot." So after Pasquale's, I had to continue driving north to ClonesForever's hometown, Algona, to find a place to stay.

OH, and on the way back I missed the restaurant in Webster City that serves a good pork tenderloin, sandwich, according to someone on this board, but I was determined to get one somewhere and the next available stop was Ogden, Pauly's suggestion. Can't remember the name of the place, but they served a massive hunk of meat on a silver dollar sized (exaggerating slightly) bun. To me, that wasn't a pork tenderloin. This meat was at least a half inch thick. Pork tenderloins from my youth were pounded much thinner than that. And the breading on it looked odd, like there were some whole grains in it, and it wasn't cooked to a golden brown and crispy like my idea of a pork tenderloin. It was just too much meat. I was stuffed before I ever got to bun and I couldn't get a doggie bag because I was on the road with no refrigeration and 500-plus miles to go. It was OK for what it was, but it wasn't what I was expecting.
