It seems like we're seeing some of that this year. They Super Bowl'd the ISU game, then they came out like garbage against NDSU. They managed to win the let-down road game against crappy Rutgers, then they lost to Northwestern in a theoretical early preparation week for the Minnesota game, which they won.

Now they have to go to Purdue with a tougher game at home against Wisconsin coming up next week. That seems to suggest we'll see a weak performance by the Hawks this week. The Boilermakers suck, but they're 3-2 and see this as an opportunity. Could we see an upset?

If the Hawks lose, do they even go to a bowl? They would have to win two out of Wisconsin, at Penn State, Michigan, at Illinois, and Nebraska. I think they would pull one out of their behind against Penn State, play Michigan tough, then win their last two to finish 7-5 and go to some bowl they don't deserve. That's just what they do.
