I was at lunch with a group of my colleagues today. Got to talking about college hoops and someone said it's so wide open this year that ISU still has as good as opportunity as anyone, which I agreed with that it's wide open.
Girl next to me has a sister (that I learned is 'seeing' Carlton Bragg at KU) chimes in and says 'ahem, one team is dominating and looking better than everyone...' and I said 'who KU? They're playing well...but we beat them pretty soundly by 13' to which she said 'Yeah but we kicked your ass in the second game in Lawrence...'. I just stared and her and my internal debate switch was immediately switched off and had no more interest. I finally said 'Iowa State plays there this weekend but keep your bandwagon fandom in full tilt.'
If someone is gonna try and smack talk, even jokingly, you gotta have a sense of the simple facts of games played, am I right?
