My life pal Sammy has what seems to be uncontrollable diabetes. He's on 10 units twice a day of Lantus and we've ruled out most other apparent issues via blood work, abdominal ultrasound, chest X-ray, urine culture, etc... He's 13 and has been on a high protein diet since diagnosis 3 months ago. Neuropathy but he's putting on weight again - now about 11 pounds. Did a glucose curve yesterday and he never moved from the 650-700 range.
Other then ever increasing insulin, are there other treatment options?
