With UAB getting kicked out of the Conference USA (due to dropping football), apparently there have been some discussions with UAB possibly joining the Missouri Valley Conference.
Conference USA has had non-football schools in the past, but with UNC Charlotte adding D-I football, the rest of the schools do have a football team.
As for the Missouri Valley, they have historically had teams outside of the midwest (Oral Roberts, Tulsa, North Texas, West Texas St, New Mexico St).....so it's possible they could look as far as Birmingham.
At least to me, I don't think it's a good fit.
