Last week I stopped at a new Mexican fast food restaurant on Lincoln Way. Abelardo's was a more authentic Mexican restaurant, which reminded me a lot of some of those places in San Diego, like Robertos, Albertos (if they still exist) and many others.

For my first visit last week I ordered Carne Asada Tacos and I liked them very much. It reminded me of my favorite El Azteca meal. I wasn't hungry enough that day, but I took notice of Carne Asada burritos on the menu and I couldn't wait to return to see if they were as good as those I crave when I visit San Diego.

So tonight I venture back for a Carne Asada Burrito. It was very large. Too large actually. I was a bit disappointed that it didn't taste like my San Diego favorite. It was okay, but not what I was hoping for. Maybe it was just a bad night. The meat didn't taste quite as good as it did on my Taco. Maybe they put to much meat in it. It was okay and if I'm ever really hungry, I'll order it again. But I won't crave it.

The GF wasn't hungry, but ordered a Quesadilla. It was huge. I thought they delivered a 12" pizza to the table. Needless to say, she didn't put a very big dent in it.

So the jury is out on whether this new place will be a go-to place for me. I'll certainly be back to try some more of the menu and I will go for the tacos again but I want to explore other menu to see if I strike gold. Maybe I'll try the Huevos Rancheros for breakfast sometime soon.
