So, I think this rainy day might be the day I shop for a generator that I can use with my RV this fall to run all my tailgate stuff. I need at least a 30A generator to run my A/C so I think that I need a 3000 watt unit as a minimum. My research:
Champion #75531i - $899 - 2800 run watts - 171 cc engine - pull start - 58 dBa - 83 Lbs
Briggs & Stratton P3000 - $1,300 - 2600 run watts - 171 cc engine - pull start - 58 db(A) - 90.4 Lbs
Powerhorse LC3500i - $1,500 - 3000 run watts - 212 cc engine - electric start - 57 dBa - 108 Lbs
Yamaha EF3000is - $1,800 - 2800 run watts - 171 cc engine - electric start - 53 DBA - 136 Lbs
Powerhouse PH3100RI - $1,100 - 3000 run watts - 171 cc engine - electric start - 56 db - 129 Lbs
Honda EU300i Handi - $2,300 - 2600 run watts - 163 cc engine - pull start - 57 DB(A) - 78 Lbs
Broliy PRO3600SIER - $1,100 - 3000 run watts - 171 cc engine - electric start - 53 db - 87 Lbs
Champion is best in price. Yamaha is typically highest rated but very heavy (I don't know if my wife can lift that big boy out of the back of my truck or not). Powerhorse can be paired with their 2000 watt unit or their 3000 watt unit if needed (most can be paired with another unit but Powerhorse seems to be the only one that does not require the exact same unit). Powerhorse and Broliy have the most run watts. Honda is highly rated and light but it is expensive. I think all the engines except Yamaha and Honda are made in China and they of course are made in Japan (sad that even the Briggs and Stratton boys sell you a Chinese engine).
I would appreciate comments if you have had experience with any of these units or any other good units that I may not have found yet.
