We were debating whether to go or not today, but my 11-year old daughter and I headed up once they backed the game up to 1:00.
We arrived about noon, and I pulled around to park in the furthest row to the north, as it makes for an easier exit. There were about half a dozen spots open, and only one that wasn't under about three inches of water. I decided to park there. There were some teenagers throwing the ball around the lot, and they moved as I pulled in.
I popped the gate on my vehicle and we headed back to grab our rain gear. A gentlemen was standing about 20 feet away from me, staring at me and mumbling about how I could have parked anywhere, and I had to choose the one f-ing spot where the kids were playing catch.
So I asked, "Is there a problem with where I parked?"
He responded, "You had to be an ass and park in the spot where the kids were playing catch?"
I asked if he would like me to go park in the puddle, and responded, "Yes. I would."
I went on to explain that people, like my parents, as I was using their tickets and pass today, pay money to be able to park in that lot.....yadda, yadda, yadda. Then being the nice guy that I am, and worrying that Mr. Tough Guy would key my car, I moved a ways down the row and found a semi-dry parking spot.
I stopped by and let the guy know that I would make sure to look him up the next time I used parents tickets and get my parking spot cleared first. I also thanked him for calling me an ass in front of my eleven year old within fifteen seconds of getting out of the car.
He proceeded to tell me that I was the one being a "tough guy" about it, and that I could either keep talking or walk on. I was ready to walk on anyway, so we did.
I then spent the next five minutes apologizing to my daughter that she had to listen to that.
I honestly can't comprehend the douchery of some people. We have them in our fanbase too, and it is sad.
On a positive note, we had a blast, and the good guys won!
Excuse me for my rant.
Go Cyclones!
