When the current situation has passed, we need to bring a world-wide end to "wet markets". I appreciate that various cultures around the world differ in their views on the raising, marketing and consumption of animals. However, I believe that science is beyond certain that wet markets offer a very opportunistic setting for the transmission of diseases between animals and humans. It is my understanding of the scientific consensus regarding the current situation is that it did indeed begin in a wet market in Wuhan.
