Ron Parham grew up on Palmer Street in Oakland, Iowa just up the street from my house. He worked in Silicon Valley for many years. After retiring he has been writing books. I have read his first two books and just loved them. He is now writing his third book and the storyline is set in southwest Iowa. I just read the excerpt on his website and I can't wait for it to come out. It brought out some memories of my childhood with the Cuban missile crisis. Here is a link to the excerpt from his upcoming book Fall Festival. http://www.ronparham.com/excerpts.htm
I recommend starting with his first book, Molly's Moon. It has won the National Association of Book Entrepreneurs (NABE) Pinnacle Book Achievement Award Winner 2015 for the category of Thriller. I don't know how prestigious that award is, but I highly recommend the book. His second book is also excellent, but because of the story being set in southwest Iowa, I can't wait for Fall Festival to come out.
I posted this before, but I just recently found out that another guy that grew up on my street has written three thrillers. I haven't read them yet, so can't recommend them, but find it really odd there are so any book writers living on my street.
