I was sitting next to a guy I know last night as we waited for the caucus to mercifully begin when we started talking about famous people we've met over the years and what they were like. A couple of years ago, Dick Vitale was to speak at a convention my acquaintance was attending In Chicago and sat down at his table for breakfast. As the table exchanged small talk, Dick asked one of the guys at the table about his business, where he was from , etc... The guy was from Macon GA, blahblahblah..."I have to leave before you speak though." Dick asked him why and the guy said that his daughter had a music program and she was doing a solo. To make all his connecting flights, the guy had to leave early. Dick said, "I'm on a private flight, why don't you go with me and I'll just have them drop you off in Macon on my way back to Florida." the guy didn't think Dick was serious, but he was and that's what they did. Dick drives me crazy with his nattering, but he sounds like a great guy.
