OT: In the market for a new mower

My old Murray rider has finally given up the ghost, I'm afraid, or more accurately, I'm giving up on it because I'm tired of it. I'm looking for a new riding lawn mower. I'm willing to spend up to 3K for one. I'd like it to be at least a 42 inch cut. I'd also like to have a zero turn radius mower if possible. I was looking at John Deeres, but they're getting up close to my spending limit and I'd really like to spend less if I can. Suggestions anyone?
