The name Hedy Lamarr doesn't mean a lot to me. She is just some old time actress that I've heard of but couldn't name a movie, or pick her out of a lineup of actresses from her era. This morning I listened to a podcast featuring her on Wondery's American Innovations. I think I heard something about her recently but her story is amazing and makes me want to watch some of her movies and catch up on documentaries that feature her accomplishments. In addition to being an actress, she was an inventor. She and a friend patented a frequency hopping concept for secure communications.
