I am amazed by this story I copied from the most recent ISU News Flash. Can some of you who are closer to daily campus life comment on if this? I know all of us on this board care deeply about Iowa State.
"...Iowa State, which is one of 90 colleges under federal investigation by the Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights, is currently working to hire a chief diversity officer and partnering with the U.S. Department of Education to promote the "It's On Us" awareness and accountability campaign during National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month (April). And while problems in Ames are comparable to those at the average university, President Steven Leath (L) says ISU must do better and become a leader in addressing this issue.
"It's important, I think, to gain a full understanding of sexual assault and related crimes and how they're impacting all campuses, but especially our campus," Leath recently told the Iowa Board of Regents. "We're going to use the information to re-craft some of our policies and practices to further ensure a healthy, safe, and secure campus environment."
